Citation And Bibliography Word 2007 Missing

I'm using EndNote 9 a Windows XP OS. I have a large document that I was working on using CWYW in Word.

My computer crashed whle the document was open, but I had already saved it prior to the crash. Previous to the crash, when I opened the saved document the bibliogrpahy was intact and the references were all formatted appropriately. Now, when I open the document, the bibliography is gone, and the references (unformatted) are still in the document body with their Field codes (I think?) they look like this: {Author, year, #numerical ID}. They should look like this: (Author, year).

When I click the "format bibliography" button on the EndNote toolbar in Word, it goes through the document one reference at a time and asks me to select the matching reference from a list of those that have the author and year criteria, as if the document no longer recognizes my library or vice versa. Why is it no longer recognizing the field code and how can I fix it?

Please, for the love of all that is good and right in the world, tell me that there is a more efficient way to recover this bibliography and reference formatting than going through all 200 pages reference by reference.

Maybe the number that is appearing in the references in the text body of my document is actually the "record number" rather than the "field code"...this still doesn't tell me how to fix my problem though.

Hello Aravinda,

Thank you for your reply.

I've tried your suggestions, all without success though.

This is what I did:

I went to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office14\Bibliography\Style

(and made sure no files or folders were hidden)
But there was no "Bibliography" folder in the folder "Office14" as given here above.

As you suggested, I copied this whole "Bibliography" folder from another computer with Word 2010. This folder contained the folder "Sort", "Style" and 2 XSL Stylesheets "Author2String" and "Author2XML". Then I pasted this folder in the following locations in order to give it a try:
1) C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office14

2) C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office14\1043\Bibliography

(because in this folder "1043" there was already a "Bibliography" folder with a XML Document "BIBFORM", so I pasted only the content of the Bibliography folder from the other computer)

3) C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office (x86)\Office14\

(because on the other computer I found the bibliography folder under this location)

4) C:\User\Appdata\Roaming\Microsoft
(as given in MS Word Help)

I restarted Office and my PC each time I added the Bibliography folder to the above locations, but my Bibliography Styles in MS word are still missing.

I can't find the issue, do you have any further advice?

Thanks a lot!

Did this solve your problem?

Sorry this didn't help.
